The following are a series of FAQs we have received over time:

What size HVAC system should I have?

This depends on several factors, including your space’s size, the climate, and various features of your home. Our technicians work strictly by the book, doing all calculations based on Manuals J and D, the ACCA’s HVAC manuals (the basis for proper HVAC system installation).

Absolutely! If you’d like to learn more about the benefits of regular maintenance, please view our Maintenance page. We offer a competitive maintenance program at a low rate of only $27.

Regular maintenance is the most effective way to improve the efficiency of your heating and cooling systems. Spray foam ductwork is also a fantastic way to decrease heat loss and increase efficiency. We are one of the only companies in Arkansas to offer this service!

One way to measure efficiency is with Annual Fuel Usage Efficiency (AFUE). For example, an AFUE of 80% means that 80% of the energy from fuel is used to heat the home, while 20% escapes up the chimney or elsewhere. Our goal for you is 90-98.5% efficiency. We also rely on SEER and EER efficiency ratings. SEER ratings reflect overall system efficiency on a seasonal basis, and EER ratings reflect system efficiency at peak operating times.

Time of year is a huge factor. In the summer months, 78-80 degrees, and 70-72 degrees in the winter months. It’s best to avoid drastic temperature changes, even when you leave your home; do not set the thermostat back more than 5 degrees.

Regular replacement of filters, clearing the outdoor unit, adjustments of sensors, lubrication of different components, and replacement of broken parts are a few of the maintenance tasks your system needs. Much of this requires special equipment and skill, so it’s best to call a reputable and experienced company to perform maintenance.

Yes, especially during the summer and winter months. If you find your unit is frequently shutting on and off, it could mean the heat sensor is malfunctioning, causing the unit to overheat then start back up when it’s cooled down. You’ll want to contact a professional HVAC company to perform necessary repairs if your unit is frequently shutting off and on.
